Mental health problems are one of the main causes of the overall disease burden worldwide and in the UK 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem each year. If you want to become a better performer, athlete or student it is important that you take time to look after your mental health. Due to the stigma attached to mental health, often people keep things bottled up and can be worried to express what they are thinking and how they are feeling. This can have a negative impact on mental health and can influence a person’s confidence, self esteem and anxiety.
This training plan has been developed to support people to learn how to build a mental health support network. This is just one strategy among a long list of coping skills which can be utilised to build positive mental health habits. The training plan will explore what is a mental health support network and will help individuals to learn how build positive relationships with people who can support their mental health.
